A collage of photos—including a field with a row of tomatoes and numerous mulched rows, a prairie planting with colorful blooms and a sign that reads 'Project by Keep Indianapolis Beautiful,' invasive plants being grown in black plastic pots in a greenhouse, and yellow cups with a variety of native plants also being grown in a greenhouse.

What we do

We study plant-environment interactions, seeking to understand the mechanisms shaping vegetation composition and diversity, and to apply this knowledge to ecological restoration and to creating sustainable and resilient urban and agricultural systems.
